Comic for 2008-05-02

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts lately - I’m still catching up after the con. I’m still working on a report from the con (with pictures and amusing stories!!), but the comic’s gotta come first. Hopefully, I’ll have a little spare time tomorrow night with which to finish it. Anyway, hope to talk to you all soon!

  1. Now this one I can agree with…. They had the SR license… they could have made something like NWN for Shadowrun (drool pant), or a Shadowrun MMO…

Instead… we got junk… because that’s likely all they knew how to make.

  2. Tiger Says:

Same thing happened with the D&D MMO, I mean that thing was like here lets take D&D, ignore it and make something based on a world that only a small hand full of people know or care about. Don’t even get me started about the Boulders Gate games….

On a completely different note when are those pre-orders going to start?

    <—really wants a book = )

  3. Brian Says:

The Shadowrun CCG sucked badly as well….

  4. xaq Says:

Check out the store… we skipped pre-orders and went straight to orders! You can order a book any time you like. :-) We start our first shipping on Monday.

  5. RJ Says:

Just curious, but why in USD? are we not canadian :p Incorporating a hand drawing into each copy I really like. Hope to pick one up next pay period.

  6. Ramian Says:

I really had no problems with it, other than being a waste of a license. I had some genuine fun planning with my squadmates, and hunting down Trolls with nothing but a pistol and a glider. It’s the first FPS I’ve ever been good at.

  7. James Wolffe Says:

If you want to play a ShadowRun game… go out and buy a Sega Genesis. They did a perfect job with the tech they had at the time, and if I had one now, I’D STILL be replaying it over and over.

  8. Actually,

I like the D&D MMO. I’m glad it isn’t set in say, The Forgotten Realms. This way I don’t have to interact with a bunch of well known, well loved NPCs, and have a bunch of FR fans screaming all the time “That’s not what Drizzt looks like!” or “Elminster would never say such a corny line” etc… This way, with little to no knowledge of the world setting it’s much less of that and more gameplay. It’s also why I love LG and mildly fear LFR.

  9. They did a Shadowrun mod for NWN’s but the project died and all I can find now is Modern D20 for the game. I know of one group thats doing a free lance version of a SR mmo though its still up in the air if the new owners (Smith & Tinker) are going to shut them down due to wanting to do a SR game of there own *shrug*
