If you’re wondering if anyone would actually make a costume that elaborate for a LARP, I give you the following video. Not only can this guy actually move in the suit, but the arms are foam weapons! Bravo, sirs/ladies, bravo!!!

I know the people who made that… I wasn’t into LARPing at that point so missed the awesomeness.
Will have to mention this to them.

Any chance of being able to get in touch with the guys who made this? I’m planning on remaking the Rock Elemental at Legion Of Dreams in line with their design.

Regarding Lance/Lancelot: I had almost the same experience when running LARP. I was creating characters for newbies, and I asked a young kid his name.
“Merlin”
“No, not your character name, your real name”
“Yes, Merlin *is* my real name”
“Oh… er, cool!”
It turned out his middle name was Arthur, too.

Regarding Lancelot: That’s actually not that strange a name. I know a kid whose first name is TauCeti.
