Webcomics Weekend

Hey everyone! I will be attending the New England Webcomics Weekend on March 20-22.

If you don’t understand why I’m so excited about that, then you’re probably haven’t heard just how awesome this thing is going to be. Imagine all of your favorite webcomic artists in one place, just hanging out. That’s right. No busy cons. No giant exhibitor halls. Just a ton of people who love webcomics, all in one place.  Oh, and did I mention that attendance is FREE?

Seriously. Check out this guest list:

That is just a small portion of the people who will be attending this. (Go check out the website if you want the complete list! There’s dozens of names) I’m not kidding. This thing is gonna be awesome!! I should mention, though, that if you’re interested in coming out, you need to pre-register first. It’s quick and easy, and will give the organizers an idea of how many people to expect. Anyway, hope to see some of you out there!!

ummm not to nitpick…. but you have a misspelling
unless of course she really meant a piece of cow flesh (mmmm yummy cow flesh *drool*) i.e “steak” rather than a pointy piece of wood (hehehe i said wood) i.e. “stake”

The way you portray LARPing makes it seem like it would be so much fun. Is there any place to check for LARPers in my area that you could perhaps point me towards? All my friends are like the Magic kid making fun of it. :(

I’d ask the same question, except I really doubt there are any in northern SK.

This is the most comprehensive LARP listing I know of! It may not have every LARP in your area, so if you check it out and still haven’t found anything, try dropping by your local gaming store & asking around. Good luck!

Oh, and Scott – there used to be a couple of LARPs in P.A. Not sure if they’re still running, but if you can make it down to Saskatoon once a month, I know of a few there!

http://WWW.owbn.org is a good place to look for vampire larps of this style, as well. the larp i play in is ex owbn (one world by night) but generally, as long as you avoid a few certain drama filled games, you should be good.

Yay for larp goodness! But I do have to comment, this is an idealized larp.. none of the politics, cheese, or rule layering is pictured in weregeek… so it has that golden haze to it.

Well, would depend how far north you are. Regina I know has groups that publicly ad in the local hobby store.

It’s true. Real LARPs involve quite a bit more drama than this, but they can be fun. One World by Night (OWbN) is fun if you get in with the Right game. Otherwise it can be mildly head-ache making.

Still. Generally LARPing is loads of fun :)
