Dragon Age : The Stolen Throne
article_img1Hey everbody!! I have exciting news! Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne is now available at bookstores! Not only is this the prequel to the Dragon Age video game by BioWare, (which looks pretty freakin’ awesome!!) but it is written by a very good friend of mine.

I’ve already had a peek at the book, since the author’s copy happened to be lying around at one of our tabletop games, and let me tell you – you need to go get this book. Like, right now. I cannot recommend it highly enough! For those who like summaries, I present the following:

Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne

After his mother, the beloved Rebel Queen, is betrayed and murdered by her own faithless lords, young Maric becomes the leader of a rebel army attempting to free his nation from the control of a foreign tyrant.

His countrymen live in fear; his commanders consider him untested; and his only allies are Loghain, a brash young outlaw who saved his life, and Rowan, the beautiful warrior maiden promised to him since birth. Surrounded by spies and traitors, Maric must find a way to not only survive but achieve his ultimate destiny: Ferelden’s freedom and the return of his line to the stolen throne.

The novel is a PREQUEL to the game… it’s intended to get people interested in the story before the game is released, as I understand it. In any case, it’s supposed to be a good stand-alone work of fantasy fiction.

Alina’s secret has finally slipped out – she’s actually a time traveler, going back and forth through time to play games as they come out. This week: Pong!

I finally made it through your archives! I just spent all my weekend email catch-up time and my WoW gaming time reading Weregeek. I love it and have it and Moose Head Stew bookmarked so I can keep up from now on. I never played D&D as I grew up out in the country and couldn’t find anyone else to play it. But I played Zelda and Final Fantasy in most of their incarnations. Get this! My mother played them more than I did, and she was born in 1937. (No longer with us, *sigh*, she would have loved Final Fantasy Online, and World of Warcraft.) You will definitely be seeing me around! :)

    … Wait, final fantasy ONLINE???
This is either a very good or a very bad thing.
(How do I know about FF if I have never played it? A freind of minr is a sephiroth fangirl. It has grown to the point where she has this sephiroth suffed animal who goes by Mr. Sephy Numkins. We are planing an intervention.)

And now the creepy, sinister anti-gamers come out.

Come on, they always seem to show up after the group does a vampire session.
