Phoenix Comic Con!
Phoenix Comic Con!

Its now just shy of one week until the Phoenix Comic Con, and I can’t wait!! Why am I so excited to be going to Phoenix, you ask?

Well, aside from it being a FOUR day con over the Memorial Day long weekend, and aside from smilin’ Stan Lee himself putting in a Sunday appearance, I’m also super excited to simply be back in Arizona.

For those who don’t know, I spent a year living in Tucson back during high school. During that time, I got to see javelinas in my back yard, grew fond of the giant saguaros dotting the horizon, and was completely ruined for winter. (85ºF in January? I’ll take that!!) So I’m terribly excited to finally be headed back to the desert!!

Oh, sure, it’s the beginning of the hot season, and I’ll have to remember to bring about a metric tonne of sunscreen lest I spontaneously combust, but still. It’s a dry heat, right?

I am also super excited because I’m going to be sharing booth with the fine folks from Little Vampires! If you’ve never read the comic before, then you’re missing out on the cutest, tiniest and (in their own minds) fiercest vampires the world has seen. So, drop by our monster mash of a booth (Booth 306) and say hi!!

You used the masculine ordinal indicator º (U+00BA) in place of the degree sign ° (U+00B0). This is an issue, in case you don’t see it, because in some fonts the former is underlined.

Speaking as an individual that gets those 85 degree winters, I’ll trade your for your summers. It’s May, and I’m already sweating just from walking outside here.

I’ve been debating about whether or not to go to Phoenix Comic Con, but I think now I might just HAVE to go! ^_^

Hey Alina, I hope you have lots of fun in Phoenix! You might want to drop the MisCon folks a line, though – their website has you listed as an attending professional, and sitting on several panels, and unless you’ve invented some sort of time traveling device (you haven’t…have you?), I’m thinking you can’t be at both MisCon and Phoenix Comic Con at the same time. 🙂

@Darius- I know how you feel, being an Arizonan myself. I nearly burnt myself on my lunch table and nearly blinded myself looking through my yearbook (no, my picture isn’t -that- bad, the sun is just too darn bright!)

@Alina- I just found out that I WILL be able to go to Phoenix Comicon on Saturday. I’ll drop by!

    Not a chance I’d be there… 🙁

But to the good news (for me): Finally got my preordered and signed lovely Weregeek vol. 2.

And now the bad news (for me): Oh @£*# noes, this is probably the most horribly treated poor thing I’ve ever received via postal services. Corners are a bit bruised (I’ve gotten used to this as a veteran of ordering loot overseas) but holy $%^& how have they managed to start ripping this book in half!? Me not happy.

yeah considering the temps for my part of AZ have been switching back and forth from cool to scorch… who knows what you’ll get. so just in case you might want to pack a light jacket. might want to pack one even if the temp wasn’t being bipolar anyways, just in case the AC is put on freeze mode.
