Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! Two-thousand-eleven, eh?

Twenty-ten was a pretty darn fine year. I went to San Diego Comic Con for the first time, got to game with a TON of awesome folks at Gen Con, and published my second book collection. Twenty ten was also the year that I began doing comics full time, which means that this New Year’s marks one full year of doing comics full time! That right there is the sort of thing that I’ll raise a glass to!

But I have a feeling that twenty eleven’s going to be JUST as awesome, if not more so!

For one thing, I’ve got a bunch of BIG changes planned for Weregeek. Starting this week, Weregeek will update FIVE days a week instead of three!! There will be four comic updates, and then a special feature on Fridays. I’m also working hard to get the 3rd print collection of Weregeek off to the printers, so watch this blog for info on book progress, pre-ordering, and the final release date! I also have a few other “secret” projects in the works that will be announced as they come up.

As if that wasn’t already an exciting enough start to the New Year, I’ve just found out that Weregeek has won a Canadian Weblog Award in the Comic category! Woot!! Please take the time to check out the other winners – there’s some GREAT blogs out there that are really worth checking out! (Just don’t blame me if you get addicted to Yarn Harlot…)

So, here’s one last salute to 2010. You were a good year. But I think 2011 is gonna blow you away!!

  2. More Weregeek? Hooray!!

I’ve heard of the Yarn Harlot! My wife is a knitter, spinner, hooker (yes, non-knit folk, that is not the first thing that comes to your mind), dyer and.. well.. let’s just say we have a whole room devoted to fiber here. So
I get exposed to all sorts of things.

There’s a huge crossover between knitters and gamers. There was a large meetup at PAX East last year and there’s bound to be a larger one this year. If you make it into Boston for the party, look for an announcement on the Penny-Arcade boards or on Ravelry.

Awesome… more awesomeness on this awesome website.
Happy new Year to you too. I am shamed to admit that I have only seen a few episodes of the doctor who went on to play Barty Crouch in Harry Potter 4 :( Dunno which that one is though :/

Haha… But I still say that an episode with all the Doctors and all the Masters incarnations would kickass…. and you know.. scare the crap out of the rest of the universe… Still Love it. (The world needs more of the Doctor anyway. :))

Woot! What an AWESOME job of doing all the Doctors! Also love the Five Doctors shout-out (aka The Three Doctors, Some Un-aired Footage, and a Really Good Impersonator). I still say they could do The Four Doctors anytime with 8-11 (assuming Eccleston(9) and McGan(8) are willing – Tennant(10) and Smith(11) being willing isn’t even a question.)

The increase in updates is awesome! Weregeek quickly became my new fave in 2010, and I’m looking forward toseing what you have in store for 2011.

Any chance you’ll be doing TCAF in May?

I can’t edit the last one, but if you do TCAF, we’ll definitely see you there! I’m not sure if we’ll try for a table this year, but we enjoyed it last year (and met some cool creators), so I’m pretty sure we’re going to be going again this year :D

*squee* All eleven of ‘em! And more comic!

… but actually The Five Doctors has the dead actor of the first Doctor replaced by an impersonator – the stock footage is of the fourth Doctor whose actor is still very much alive.
    *going to shut up now*
