Calling all Edmonton Weregeeks!

Attention, Weregeeks! The rules for the Weregeek Card Game are coming together nicely, and we’re now about ready to beta-test the game. That means that I’m looking for folks in Edmonton who have some free time this Saturday, February 12th to help me test out the rules.

Happy Harbor Comics has been kind enough to let me use their gaming tables at their Volume 1 location on Jasper Avenue, and we will be play testing the game there from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm this Saturday. If you can make it out, please let me know in the comments so I have an idea of how many decks we will need. Thank you, and I hope to see you there!

Weregeek Card Game Playtesting:

Be one of the first to try out a card game based on the webcomic, Weregeek! Join author Alina Pete and local game designer Levi Kornelsen for an afternoon of playtesting a fun, fast-paced game that pits pocky-hungry Otaku against Klingon-spouting Trekkies, and even stranger things! Feedback on the rules and suggestions of how to improve the game will be highly encouraged, and all attendees will receive a mention in the finished product for their roles as beta-testers.

I wish I could be there! I live two provinces over. No way I’d be able to get there for the testing of the game.

ARGH! And I would REALLY love to play it too!!! :(

Ummmm… those are actually ENGLISH accents NOT British, I didn’t notice a Welsh, Scottish or Irish accent.

You have cast summon “Edmonton Weregeek fan” and since I am a geek and a fan I will appear.

And for those fellow geeks that are in Canada but not in Edmonton, use this as an excuse for a road trip.

Madcat, believe me, I would have put in way more accents if I had the room. I wrote about a dozen lines and picked the six that I thought would be funniest for Alina to draw… didn’t notice that they were all English until you pointed it out.

Interesting side note: I found Scouse and Welsh accents to be the hardest to express in print, of the ones I tried. :)
