I am looking for the wonderful German photographer who visited me at WonderCon on Friday. Sir, you left your credit card at my table. I have it with me and am guarding it for you. I know how scary it can be to be in a foreign country without your credit card, and I really, really hope I can get it back to you!!

Alina, if he doesn’t contact you soon, try checking the back of the card for a phone number and calling to report that you’ve found it. They may be able to contact the customer and alert them.

Thanks for the tip, Jonathan. I tried that, but unfortunately his credit card company can only cancel the card. They have no way to contact him directly.
They recommended to call them back and cancel the card if he hasn’t picked it up in 24 hours, but I don’t want to leave the poor man in a lurch if the card is being used for his hotel stay!

Have you tried getting an announcement over the PA? I once lost my card at CTCon and there was an announcement out so I could find it again xD

Check with the card company…if he used that card to register at the hotel, they would show the hold on the card and could tell you what hotel he is at.
Or, maybe call the closest big hotels and see if his name is registered.

Thank you all for being so concerned. The credit card eventually found it’s way back to it’s owner – me ^^ Oh, and using the PA wouldn’t have helped – I left Wondercon after talking to Alina. I mean… seriously… there was nothing that could have topped that meting by chance. Why would I have wanted to stay any longer?
Sorry, Alina, for causing you so much trouble. I was totally unaware of what had happened until I got ‘becca’s email. An thank you for negotiating with fierce German bank service employees, sending out bounty hunters after me and even putting my face on every milk bottle available.

Hope to meet you in Essen 2012. Because if you don’t I may have to visit you again, ‘foget’ my credit card and make you fly to Germany to return it.

Didn’t know you were there, I was just saying to my friend yesterday when I was there that out of all the comics I read (all online stuff), only 3 of them are at the Con (that I know of) and that’s only 2 tables.
