Hey everyone! Never fear, Monday has rolled around and I am still the artist here at Weregeek.com!
Those of you who read Goblins, Dork Tower and Weregeek will quickly have figured out that last Friday’s comic was a clever (?) April Fool’s Joke.
I actually feel a little bad for tricking you all like that, since it sounded like there were some very worried people who were quite sad to not be seeing my art anymore. Well, never fear! I love my comic too much to ever give it up, and I love my audience too much to ever drop something like that on you out of the blue. (Seriously, you guys are awesome. I so often feel blessed to have such a great bunch of Weregeeks as fans. ^^)
Those who follow us on Twitter may also have noticed that this is not the first time John, Tarol and I have teamed up. Those with an exceptional Spot check may even have seen reference to a special “secret’ project that we’ve been working on together. What project is that, you ask? Well… I hope to make a big announcement about it in the next few days!!
Until then, sorry for the prank, and I hope you all enjoyed seeing a different take on Mark and Joel just as much as I enjoyed the opportunity to draw Matt and Igor as Weregeeks!

Moriarty Says:
Nah. You didn’t fool me.
But then I started out with checking Dork Tower first. John fooled me good at the start. (His schedule HAS been a bit more… varied than yours soo…)
But then I checked here and Goblins and… well… It was a good try at least.
D-chan Says:
Yeah, I was one really worried fan, because for as much talent your buddy there may have, well, uhm, you draw them much better ^_^;; I’m glad you’re still with us!
ExcaliburBlade Says:
I was hoping to see how the battle to the death went. I thought it would have made an interesting fight.
WyrmPilot Says:
I liked the prank for two reasons:
1) It was terribly funny. I’m still kinda chuckling.
2) I’d never read Weregeek before yesterday — after getting the link from Dork Tower, I read through the entire archive in one sitting. It’s even funnier than XKCD, and I require twice as much content immediately!
Bjorn Stronginthearm Says:
When I’ve read the posting at Dorktower I believed it. When I’ve read Goblins I became a little suspcious and looked at my calendar. But the prank was a real good idea. I haven’t read Weregeek before but now I have and I absolutely love it! Cross-promotion at its best!
Antdevamp Says:
It was great to see you at Wondercon, the commission I got was perfect. I have to scan this so folks can see it.
twosandalz Says:
I loved the prank! I liked following it around the three sites, and reading what you’d all dreamed up for excuses for dropping your beloved comics. April Fool’s is so dull without fun pranks.
TheSedated Says:
Hi Alina!
I’d like to thank you for your wonderful comic (and Thunt for doing the April’s Fools Day joke with you. Without it, I’d be still unaware of this comic…) and finally I got a very good explanation for me…
1. Some other people think, I’m a weirdo. Check.
2. I’ve got an addiction for video games. Check.
3. I love Science Fiction and Dark Future/Cyberpunk (My favourite is the Terminator universe) things. Check.
4. I am interested in physics and computer science. Check.
And now, the thing I learned from reading your comic…
5. I’m a geek. Check.
I wasn’t aware that I’m a geek until a few days ago. Hell, as a German, I didn’t even know what the term “Geek” really means. Now I know. Thank you.

William Huxley Says:
Well played. I don’t follow the other two, so you had me going.
Mychyl Says:
The second I saw Thunt’s style on the picture, and remembered the date, I was expecting a joke.
After all, nothing that happens on April first can ever be taken seriously. Silly Alina. ^.~
Groovekittie Says:
I don’t follow the other two so you really got me! I didn’t notice the date when I read it and I went and told my daughter and we were both so disappointed! lol She even went so far to declare that she’d NEVER read Weregeek again! Hahaha 12 year olds. So dramatic! But when I realized later in the day that it was an April Fool’s joke … Oh man! I felt silly! AND RELIEVED! So was my daughter. And then I realized you were in cahoots with the other two! Both my daughter and I had a good chuckle at our own expense. Good one!
Chris Blanchard Says:
I, too, came here from Dork Tower when I read John’s post. It seemed pretty believable, too, until I saw the link here to Goblins. I read Goblins and Dork Tower, but never even heard of Weregeeks (I’m not sure how, really), but I’m so glad I found it! This is a webcomic about ME, and I’m super happy to be here now.
edg Says:
Great web joke! I, too, found this via Dork Tower and am really glad I did! I am also caught up and that’s sad. Ah, well.
Thanks!
