The plot overload will resume on Monday, and rest assured that this time, there will be answers to all those burning questions you have…
Today is Friday the 13th, and in honor of that, I’m posting up a sketch of one of my old Serenity characters, who was TERRIBLY superstitious! (The best spacers usually are!)
Meet Nell “Dodge” Dodson, sole survivor of a mutiny that occurred while Reavers were busy overrunning her ship. She was the only spacer mean enough to fight her way to the one remaining escape pod, and that willingness to do anything to survive sort of defined her for the rest of the storyline. The rest of the crew grudgingly came to rely on her muscle and piloting skills, but I don’t know if any of them was crazy enough to trust her overmuch! She was about as rude and crude as they came (which was SO much fun for me to play), but she was also all kinds of twitchy, especially if anyone mentioned the word “Reaver” in her presence!! She once disappeared into the ducts of the ship for a few days because she ‘though she heard some ghosts’.
Two-parts Jayne, two-parts Tank Girl, all crazy. Yep, that was Dodge!

Very nifty character design!

Serenity. It has been a while. Our crew for the occasional one-off was half practical, half psychotic. And yes, I know the chronometer has more uses then just remote detonation for those mining charges, but it worked. Besides, I was roleplaying my complications!
Mythallian Says:
If you have experience with a Serenity game, could you add yet another system for the comic’s characters to play? I would love to see what you could do with the firefly universe and this crew.
Plasma Man Says:
Wow, she looks badass.
Dell 8000 Battery Says:
If you don’t kill an Ewok to ward off evil spirits on Friday13th, 347 fairies will die and your house will burn down. TrueStory
Takley Says:
If you follow above step, the Ewoks will come and devour your family and destroy your life forever! Wahahahahahahahah
WyrmPilot Says:
I’m just psyched to be part of the show.
Miiesha Says:
That sketch looks a whole like Lori Petty’s version of Tank Girl.

D:
you realize that Tank Girl and Jayne are contra-indicated. They react volatilely when mixed together.
Alina Says:
Zippomage – Yes. Dodge *did* act volatilely most of the time.
Miiesha – Lori Petty was a huge influence on the character design. She was SUCH a perfect fit for Tank Girl, and I can’t read the comics now without hearing her voice.
Thanks plasma and magpie!
As for a Serenity storyarc, we’ll have to see. I’m a little leery of doing licensed products (which is why we haven’t seen Star Wars in a while) because the line between parody and infringement is very fine indeed and scares the heck out of me. But, oh! the temptation to write something Serenity-related is ever so strong!

Just re-watched the Train Job <3
And 'The Devil's Due' is a great name for a ship!
