The things I draw
The things I draw

Hey Weregeeks! Just a reminder that the commission sale goes live on Monday, and I’ll be posting a link to the pricing and details here on the blog.

For now, I’ve had a several people ask what sorts of things I’m comfortable drawing. The answer is, pretty much anything, provided it’s PG-13. (Cheesecake is fine, but no nudity.) I’m comfortable drawing in several different styles, so if you’ve had a hankering for an anime character, I can probably do that. Same thing if you have a noir character, or a Hellboy fan character, or anything of that sort. If you have photo reference of the sort of style you’re after, that makes it easier on me.

Today’s sketch is a sampling of the sorts of things people have commissioned from me in the past.

If that’s the case, I might like to commission something. If you’re familiar with Exalted, anyway, you’ll know that it’s anime-style…

Alina: If you’re reading this, the cast pic thing is still on. It just might be a while (quite a while) to get the funds together. I’ll let you know!

I LOVE your Tattoo design! Is it Aries?

I’ve been looking for someone to design me a dragon tattoo… (and this is way before the book series, I was born in the year of the dragon).

    Must think about this…

Aww. I wanted a nude cheesecake.

I’ll have to see your prices before I ask for anything of course. Good luck with commissions none the less. Try not to overwork yourself. ^^

    Vash-
you know the old World War II posters of ladies in swimsuits? Or what look like cocktail dresses? Those are examples of cheesecake. Not sure how pinup art came to be called “cheesecake,” but that’s what it is….

BESM actually has a “cheesecake armor” buff for characters whose armor is more appearance than protection.

Love the group pic of the Weregeek characters, but Sarah’s playing her zills wrong! It’s the middle finger they’re looped over (provides the most stability and control in the hands). She makes an adorable dancer, though!

What would you charge for a portrait based on this photo of me?

I think I mentioned before that I will happily pay for a chibified mind flayer, especially if it’s doing something horrifying yet work-safe. It would be a present for my husband, a DM who is a little nuts about mind flayers. I would need it before December 11 if possible, by Christmas if not.

Been following weregeek for quite a while, but just now i figured out where the comments go. Awesome drawings, but where’s abbie at the D&D scene? If she’s the girl at the table she sure looks different with her hair loose.

I would like to have something drawn, yes yes, but i live south of the border, down Mexico way, that would be a problem?

    To Grant:

The design can work very well for Aries. However it was originally requested as a Chinese Zodiac symbol (and yes I made the request) after I found out that there were elements associated with each year.

My friends had ribbed me over chinese food menus once too often about being a ‘sheep’. So when I found out that my element was fire, I commissioned Alina to combine the element and symbol to create a ‘takes nothing from no one’ Sheep on Fire!

For those that care, when I showed the artwork at the next evening out (and yes I carried it in the car for two weeks), it was an instant success!

I may have to now commission a ‘Smug Sheep on Fire’ after all the compliments!

    Thanks Alina!
