Tension breaker!!
Tension breaker!!

Okay!! Too much drama for one week! We need something cute to cleanse our palates.

I think a picture of Toothless as the Doctor will fit the bill nicely. 🙂

  4. Cute! And geeky! The perfect flavor combination.

I don’t know who I feel more sorry for, Mark or Jessica. I’m sorry, but whatever fallout is coming, Sarah brought it on herself.

Devils Advocate time, why does she get a free pass on snooping and misinterpreting things? Honestly yea this is going to blow up but she should have asked him to explain exactly what was going on before going boom.

    Cute! And most excellent crossover.

I pity them both. It’s clear Mark thought it really was innocent…perhaps there’s a bit of denial there? And Jess, though she was snooping, probably assumed that she *wouldn’t* find anything bad, and it would be a confirmation of security – albeit a…slightly weird one o_o
As for Sarah, she may not have meant to hurt either of them, but she definitely ended up enacting her feelings for Mark in a super-unhealthy and even dangerous way.
Poor everyone! This is a terrible way to bring a love triangle to the surface! D:
And by terrible, I don’t mean badly-done – it’s perfectly realistic. Just sad. Also worrying. Also Alina you rule. Also I have been talking too much.

Agh! Nooo! Both far too cute, and also agonizing! I didn’t need a break from the drama I needed resolution!

Well this is indeed a needed interlude and reminds me of the old gag of putting a bit of filler with happy music to hide the fact that all hell is breaking loose. hopefully when we return the apartment is not on fire.

D’aww dragons and who two of my favorite things.

Now onto the comics; this is a kind of grey area. I also have some issues with it.

If this has been going on for a few years(maybe maybe not i don’t know the time scale on the comic.) I know at least a few months have passed and these two have been passing messages for a while, if he has these archived for an RPG wouldn’t they think to tag it as such. Or if she read them all wouldn’t things have come up like oh “clans’ ‘vampire’ ‘blood’? I mean don’t get me wrong from what i’ve seen it looks like she flipped her lid and probaly didn’t read all the nasty details, and I mean in a situation like this it’s all three involved and i see it being kind of awkward for the whole group.

  14. DJKaiba Says:

Both sides have a reason to be upset I think. Him for her reading his e-mails without permission, though he should have let her know about them in the first place, but for her I’m sure she has heard plenty of stories of guys going behind their girlfriend’s backs and cheating on them and then playing it off as if it were nothing or making up some random excuse. So this is just a matter of mistimed communication.

This is what happens when you don’t trust someone to the point of snooping. If you snoop, you will always find out something you don’t want to know.

I really feel sorry for Jess. Mark has been an idiot on so many levels

s: Encouraging Sarah, who has also been an idiot.
p: Not explaining things to Jess prior.
d: Writing romantic stuff to anyone but Jess. I’m going to guess he hasn’t. Jess should definitely call him on this one.
f: Worse yet is that Jess realises that Sarah can connect in a way she cannot hope to compete in.
g: Not explaining things to Jess prior. Technically I’ve already mentioned this but I felt it was so important it should be mentioned again.

Mark needs to make a Diplomacy check fast. Does he get a circumstance bonus because of his relationship with Jess, which was going long before he got invested in his geekiness?

BTW, I know this sounds totally girly, but I want that dragon as a plushie. It is TOO CUTE!

  19. Sarah Says:

I honestly don’t understand why Mark and Jess are together. No, really. They share no common interests other than … keeping the relationship going? Jess has treated him like an accessory on several occasions. Mark feels he has to hide a whole side of himself from her, even his friends for a while. Those aren’t the signs of a healthy relationship.

However, Sarah’s crush hasn’t been manifesting in healthy ways either. Abusing the game system to make Mark obsessed with her character is NOT ok. She should have confronted him and been like “I like you a lot, and I don’t understand why you’re with a girl who you’re afraid to share all your geekiness with. Just puttin’ that out there” and made Mark THINK about things.

Arrrrrgh. Just glad Mark and Jess appear to be breaking up now. Been a long time coming.

  20. OldGeekGal Says:

@Sarah (last comment above mine) nailed everything about why the game relationship between Mark and Sarah was unhealthy for everyone and why Sarah should have been more forthcoming with her feelings. Though she shouldn’t have snooped, Jess has perfectly legitimate reasons to be upset. All good acting comes from someplace in you – and there’s a reason why so many leading man/leading lady relationships in Hollywood sprang from the movies they appeared in at the time. Of course, these do fall apart once one or the other or both realize that they are not their characters.

It’ll be interesting to see if Mark and Jess do actually break up. Love the great storytelling, Alina!

  21. DM Topher Says:

I agree with OldGeekGal and Sarah. Jess has treated Mark like an accessory and they don’t seem to have anything in common, especially as he delves further into geekdom.

Sarah (the character) is guilty herself for manipulating Mark via gaming, but then I’ve been shipping the two of them practically since the series started.

I think the solution is obvious:

Mark and Abbie need to fall in love. And boom goes the dynamite.
