Happy 2014!!

Happy New Years, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful celebration last night. I myself had a chance to try out some of the awesome board games I got for Christmas – Zombicide was a particular hit!! What games did you guys play over the holidays? Let me know in the comments!

I got to play Kill Dr. Lucky, which was lots of fun. Imagine playing Clue (which I always thought was kind of boring), bump it back to before the crime and make the victim someone all the players want to kill. Of course, the Dr. Lucky isn’t going to make it easy for you…

    Good Times!

  5. My son, Carlos, was so excited to try his My Little Pony card game, he connived me into playing. I beat him at the first (and only) two games we played. Old geeks rule.

PACIFIC RIIIIIIIIIIIM. Not that I spent the last half of 2013 being obsessed with the movie, or anything, buying the DVD, the artbook, getting Del Toro’s other book from Christmas, saving up for the Cherno Alpha figure in March…

Love this page! Played Once Upon A Time and Gloom with my parents and girlfriend the weekend after Christmas and had a lot of fun. NYE was spent on the couch watching my girlfriend and a friend play Lego Marvel Superheroes.

  10. Got my wife Smash Up! and the two expansion sets. Took her a while to catch on but now she is a devious and wicked backstabber. *sniff* I couldn’t be more proud!

Also, her brother got her Gloom and several expansions.

No board games this time. Also no games at all on the 31st, I hang around with a different crowd than usual. Quite a lot of “Der Eine Ring”, the newest Lord of the Rings RPG (P&P) the weekend before though.
And still looking for a copy of my own of “Blänk” (pretty much a German version of Cards Against Humanity).

Also: Abbie all Pacific Rim style? Daaaamn girl… she’s hot! ;)

No games but I got a new gadget which I can sorta think of as a game because I can beat high scores from previous days. I got a Fitbit which logs my steps and it sends it to my computer, I’m going to see if I can break 10,000 steps in a day, so far just over 8,500 is my record.

(SHHH since its a gadget I’m counting it as a geek thing, don’t you dare tell me its a jockette thing. I have a app on my phone for it and everything, plus its data analysis )

Spent New Years playing the Big bang Theory game. Kinda like a geek version of Cards Against Humanity et al…

In other news I spent the week run up to Yule reading this entire comic from the start, having jumped in during the Werewolf Live storyline.
Excellent work, love it and am entirely hooked now.
*Wonders if shipping the current volumes to the UK is possible…*

Dusted off the old Avalon Hill classic Wizard’s Quest, and turned my family into a screaming slap fight. It was great. Next year my sister mentioned acquiring Dark Tower.

Got my son The Magic Labyrinth game. Easy for a six year old to pick up but fun for adults as well. Makes clever use of magnets to create invisible walls.

Waiting until I get over my flu before trying my present to myself, CrashTackle, a rugby boardgame.

    For the convention strip #1
I have drank many questionable energy drinks because that was all that was available at convention because my favorites were sold out. Zombie blood? Never again! Blech!

Don’t drink it yourself, dare a friend to.
