This sketch is the uncolored version of an old commission I did, of two kobolds being adorable at each other. I think the world deserves more adorable kobolds. <3
eeheehee. I have two thoughts. the immediate “this must be how those Argonians in Riften’s proposal went” then “Oh wait, they’re kobolds…”
“DEEKIN FOUND TWU LUV!!!” 😀 <33
I love it… kobolds have long been my favourite among all the D&D races. They’re just so much fun – wretched little monsters that nobody treats with anything but contempt, yet anything can happen when you somehow end up with one becoming a PC…
Hey! I know those kobolds! This was a commission I had you make for my wife. We loved it so much!
One question, though…Why not use the color version? It was so much better!
Okay…stupid Picasa Web album… Here’s a better link: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0rffqAyXYFo/Uyw8TGp6C2I/AAAAAAAAMyk/-IboiR2GNn4/s800/Kobolds%2520in%2520Love.jpg
These particular kobolds were named Gakk (the kneeling kobold, my little sorcerer), and Shelly (my wife’s character from the same game; a kobold ranger raised by humans). Gakk was named after the sound a duck makes when you sit on it. His naming ceremony was interrupted by his drunk uncle doing just that at the opportune moment, and per the custom of his tribe, that was what he had to be named.
Kobolds are awesome.
And they definitely deserve more love.
When do we get a webcomic about an adventuring party of kobolds?
That… is as hilarious, as it is fabulous! 😀
And a great take on kobolds. They’re not always lying in ambush for the next party, you know! They have lives as well!
Has anyone else come across the theory that Kobolds survive by following adventurers around and taking all the copper pieces that the adventures leave because they’re too heavy to be worth carrying?
So… I’m seeing a reasonably low encounter level with inappropriately high loot… even moreso if that ring’s enchanted… because Chaotic Neutral, that’s why.
Oh my gosh, I love this art and I love kobolds! They are tiny and lizardy, and that is amazing. The only thing better is a half-dragon kibold samurai on a sharpei!
Awwww… now i feel a little guilty for all the kobolds I killed in Moria and Angband.
That must be a pretty small tree. 😉
@Satyrwyld – don’t count on “low encounter level”. Sure, the average kobold is a pretty sorry figure, but just when you write them off, that’s when you stumble across one who’s an epic-level sorcerer…
The art is nice, but, knowing how things are handled here, I bet those Kobolds in this scene aren’t actually Kobolds, but people with masks that have just too much imagination.
and here I thought those were Argonians
I thought they were Gorns at first, until I noticed the tails.
