Sarah the Submariner
Sarah the Submariner
Second part of code:

Hey everyone! It’s a little tough to tell without the shading in her hair or her glasses, but today’s sketch is of Sarah as a mermaid. This is the second sketch in a series of Artist’s Edition books, the first of which was Abbie as a fairy. I’m pretty happy with how feral Sarah looks – I’ve always liked half-mad, blood-crazy mermaids over the pretty kind – but I do wish I’d had time to shade in her hair. Oh well. Perhaps I’ll just have to redraw it sometime! :)

Look at those teeth. Hm. Half mermaid, half vampire… I don’t think this is Sarah, but rather Lady Sunset Autumn Honey Purity Sunflower Rainbow.

@ Nex Terren: Those aren’t vampire fangs. Those are shark teeth, made for chomping down, holding fast, biting through and tearing off hunks of flesh. Much more fiercealicious than puny vampire fangs.

Heh. Reminds me of the mermaids from PotC: On Stranger Tides. They were vicious little things.

I just finished a lot of catch up and I’m upset. What, did they randomly decide to rope Mark into a LARP? They didn’t even know him at the time! Plus, how did Mark have his powers at the beginning? Those are major plot holes. I’m disappointed.

Question that has been bugging me for a while. What clan is Sarah’s Masquerade character? Its implied that she’s a Lasombra, with the shadow tentacles and shit (and given how terrified everyone is of her). But its a Cam/Anarch game. Lasombra are fairly rare in the Cam.

Actually Aolytetojippity, it’s a NWoD game, so it’s post cam and all that, with the four factions etc.

@Joker ohhhhh, i see. Okay then.

Does that mean the Werewolf LARP was Forsaken instead of Apocalypse? No, it can’t be. There were BSD in it.

Alina has stated that she doesn’t want edition wars, so she mixes and matches as she wants.

This new comic… Is Sarah like… Hunter 2.0?

@acolytetojippity: Actually, in an earlier strip (http://www.weregeek.com/2010/10/15/), when Dustin and Ravenia are creating Ravenia’s character, he says that they use rules from several different editions, because the game has run for so long.

I just caught up to the “twist” and I wanted to say something. I really didn’t want to come across like some kind of raging fanboy so I waited a couple hours so I could say what I really feel. I did get pretty invested in the geek superpower thing though (the geek vs hunter thing was cool but it wasn’t the heart of the matter) so that felt quite rocky. At first I thought they were just pretending to be doing a LARP to explain their way out of being spotted.

I just don’t appreciate “it was just a dream” or “it was make believe” plotlines, I just end up with this raging “well that was pointless” feeling afterwards. It also gives the impression (to me at least, I could be wrong) that the writer didn’t know where they were going with the story so they just pressed the “eject” button.

It just kinda feels like I was setting up to eat this big jammy doughnut and then Alina came along, poked a hole in it and all the jam fell out on the floor. Sure I can still eat the doughnut and it’ll be sweet but not what it could have been.

I’ll just be sad-geeking over here in the corner.
