Murder Hotel
Murder Hotel

Sadly, that was not the only murder hotel I’ve stayed at during a convention….

The guy in the third panel is not Layne, who doesn’t usually travel with me if I have to fly, but my webcomics buddy, Sam Logan of Sam and Fuzzy. You should read his comic – it is excellent.

I’m glad we didn’t die in the murder hotel.

It’s the hairy forearm that totally sells that as Sam. 😀

Was this the Pickwick hotel in San Diego? Not the nicest of places. Drug deal and shooting happened right outside my window.

Yikes. I’m reminded of my sister-in-law’s stories about managing a hotel desk in college. The resident drug dealer was the nicest of their guests (he paid promptly in cash and kept noise/mess to a minimum).

  4. I’m glad you didn’t die, as well.

No, not just because I’d miss the comic! Sheesh!

We took a cousin on a road trip once when my brother and I and the cousin were all teenagers. His family usually flies to their destination and stays in pretty high-class lodgings.
My family drives almost everywhere, and we don’t see any reason to pay for fancy accommodations if we’re driving in late and leaving early. So in this case, we carried our belongings up the stairs past some admittedly sketchy-looking 20-somethings loitering in the corners, and crashed for the night. We were gone by six am.
Ten years later, Cousin still rants about the time we tried to get him murdered by the drug mafia gang of Tennessee. He swears there were bullet holes in the wall.

…Brotherling and I might have um, *accidentally* given his imagination a boost by pointing out the holes in question…

Ooh! Con stuff is always fun.
BTW, am I the only one still wondering about Jess creepin’ outside Sarah’s place at the end of chapter twenty-something (i think)? Like, I was afraid she was gonna attack Sarah, but nothing was mentioned after that.

I suppose maybe it’s a good thing you didn’t die at the murder hotel, but imagine the story you would have to tell about it if you had died at the murder hotel!

Now now, the Murder Hotel is run by a kindly old couple, Mary and George Murder. The fact that numerous people have been murdered there is completely coincidental.
