Cragg is played by Darren, btw. I realized I went a little crazy with his design and doesn’t look as much like Darren as I’d been hoping. May see what I can do to fix that!

Huh. Depending on how much of that is his costume and how much is the imagination filter… How does he freakin’ move?!

  2. He was shown in the pre-game just wearing grey-ish body paint.

I’m following just fine. The skirt’s a good clue, if nothing else, and ogres tend to look less human on average anyway.

Hooo boy, this is one of those characters that look great on paper but is just So Boring at the larp.

I’ve been at fantasy larps with every corner of the inn occupied of dark, broding strangers who desperately hope that someone will try to pry their dark secret from them.

@Bagge: I have the opposite problem. Nobody will let me play a bard… 🙁

@Bagge: It’s funny because I play a silent character at LARP, and people were shocked to discover that I did not want any of them to try and pry my secrets out of me and really did just want to be left alone. (It’s hard making an immersionist character! But so very rewarding…)

But I am very familiar with the phenomenon you are talking about. “Dark and brooding” usually proceeds to the in-character version of TAMCS.

Yeah, these are characters that seem great when you create them, but are so incredibly boring to play in a LARP setting. Unless there’s a large group of similar characters to interact with (in vampire context, clanmates), you end up just sitting and brooding.

I know what you mean, Cragg. I always preferred C++ over Smalltalk, myself…

Thought it was him. But then, I did pay attention when they were discussing their characters some while ago.

Larp or not, I really like to play characters with some dark spot in their history, whatever it might be. It gives them an edge that helps define them and how they react to things (Exalted Dragonblooded girl I played had an absolute phobia of anything sexual, due to a past as sex-slave of a Cynis. Which made for interesting play considering we had two very openminded Lunars in the group as well.) Does not necessarily make them brooding though. Just less a 08/15 or vanilla mass-produced chara. Of course it helps that I usually clearly define that dark spot and think it up on my own, not just copy from popular fiction.

Yeah, outfit gives him away. No one else in the cast can pull off the kilt and leatherman harness like Darren.
