Hollows are great, even if it is a little bit safer to just live in an apartment. (Changelings who spend too much time in the Hedge go a little nuts!) Monsters can’t, generally, find you and eat you in an apartment. On the other hand, apartments come with neighbours, and neighbours might notice if you howl at night or come back covered in blood, thorns and monster goo.

I like it. Nice to see another LARP-Story. I got to say, Changeling sounds pretty difficult and confusing, so I am on Marks side here.

Xadahgla: Wait ’til they do Demon: the Descent!*

*They may not do Demon: the Descent.

Basically imagine The Matrix meets Paradise Lost meets Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

  4. Xadahgla: It’s a lot to take in, but once you get the basic concepts its pretty easy to get into. It’s a game with a lot of abuse survival overtones to it and how people cope. Honestly one of my favorite RPGs ever.

Also, it’s an endearing part of Mark, but does anyone else ever get the feeling whenever he does stuff IC, it’s the equivalent of cringeworthy mugging?

Remedy for the neighbors: Fix up an abandoned tenement building. Multiple motley’s could live there. Magic could make the building unnoticeable by Mundanes (think Number 12 Grimmauld Place in Harry Potter).

Lender, that sounds like a recipe for conflict.

I like it. Perfect for a smaller-scale LARP, too.

  8. Sarah Says:

Oh wait, I know the comic said she was a “Darkling”. And I Googled that and apparently there’s different sorts ? That’s what I was wondering.

she’s something like a white woman. those girls that scare you to death, chase you down and eat your heart.

Reading that aloud… Sounds like an ex-wife.

  10. Alina Says:

Sarah: Darkling is her Kith, which is a broad category of spooky, dark-loving Changelings. Her Seeming is Palewraith, which are a particular type of Darkling known for being “near-transparent beings who lurk in the shadows”.

Thank you, Alina !! 😀 Seeming is what I was after, but wasn’t sure of the terminology to use. Changeling sounds like a pretty friggin awesome RPG.

There’s a wiki that it’s far too easy to spend extended periods of time reading.

as an unrelated aside… I LOVE the little artistic detail of Sarah’s arms resting on (and a bit over) the frame. It’s so… right… in that Ringu kinda way 😀

  14. Gaius Says:

Alina is correct at heart, though the terminology is flipped: Seeming is the broad category, while Kith is a sort of refinement within it. Palewraith is Sarah’s/Woe’s Kith.
