Now it sort of makes sense. Get the big scary guy roaring and tromping around the place, people run into the cave to avoid it, get nommed by the real threat. the Orge (?) was just a glorified sheepdog!

I have a feeling this may be getting close to the end of the arc? (honestly hope not) If it is, there are worse ways to end it.

I’m curious, not being a gamer, but can a DM run two scenarios at once without letting those not in on the scene know what’s going on? I assume like at the beginning, the character involved gets called to a separate conference.

  18. It had to happen. It looked as if things were getting wrapped up. That would be a horrible thing to have happen around Hallowe’en. (Unless you are a mummy.) So, more excitement.

    Go, Alina!

@TB most experienced gamers know the difference between in character and out of character knowledge. It is very bad show to use knowledge you would know but your character had no way of knowing.

I agree. Sometimes as a DM you have to run 2-3 Scenarios at the same time. Sometimes you can move to a different room with the Player or have a secondary GM, but most of the time you just rely on character-knowledge not being mixed with Player knowledge.

But you have to be strict with the Players.

P1:”I’m going down to the freight-storage-room”
    DM: – “Why?”
    P1: “Because i’m curious”
DM: – “Yeah. And you just became curious because you AS A PLAYER know, that one of the other players is being attacked there. Sorry. Not gonna happen”
    P2: “I scream like a little bitch”
    P1: “Do i hear it?”
    DM rolls
DM: “Yes. It’s coming from the freight storage room”
P1: “I run there immediately, drawing my weapon”
    DM: “Okeydokey”

For a LARP *this* big, I’d assume Jim has at least a few people helping him to GM for different players. One of them could be mediating Simon’s conflict.
On the other hand, I don’t actually have any idea how Changeling mechanics work; how much are players able to resolve conflicts without the help of a GM?
