Ah, it’s not really Christmas until at least one of the cats decides to nest among the ornaments. All you see is a head sticking out about a third of the way up.

Why do I feel like the tree is going to fall over?

Wait…Mark says he’s making a licorice saddle for the cat, but in the next panel it looks like they’re just riding it bareback. Did he use up all the licorice for that bait-stick thing?

OMG, they’re eating gingerbread cookies while playing this?

  6. taran47 Says:

Wait do they have actual gingerbread cookies as snacks while they’re playing the game? That’s…. almost insidious. You know, I would totally make the players make gingerbread men of their characters and then when one of them got injured / lost a body part just slowly pick up and bite the limb off the cookie while never breaking eye contact…

“The great thing about Cats: They’re an All-Terrain Vehicle”

I almost Lol’d. Would have too, but my co-workers would look at me funny. Again.

As long as the tree doesn’t animate with the cat at the helm, all should be good.

  17. taran47, that sounds like a good idea! Side effect: A killer GM dying of cookie inhalation.

Cats as an all-terrain vehicle: I love the idea. When the party tries to undo their little scheme, kitty gets to get closer and will have great incentive to do so. How will you save them from this? And maybe, the relevant question is with the first word bitten off.

  18. Dean Says:

Surely making a saddle or harness would be Craft (leatherworking), not Animal Husbandry…

  19. Annonymouse Says:

Making something from licorice it would be craft Amezaiku or confectioner

    Posted December 21st, 2017 at 10:30 pm
  20. TheDarkTyger Says:

Bit of both, perhaps. A leatherworker isn’t going to necessarily know sizing and etc to craft an improvised harness.

There is no problem that cannot be overcome with imaginative and vigorous use of the Animal Husbandry skill.

  22. Poofiemus Says:

Oh my gawd, the way they ride the cat. . . My own D&D group actually DID that! Well, with a dead deer for bait, and we were riding a giant snake, but STILL.

We call the incident “the Snake Bus.”
