Moving woes = Delays
Moving woes = Delays

Hey folks!

Just catching you all up on why there’s been so few updates this week. We had to move because they were tearing our old apartment down in order to put up condos (such is the way of things in Vancouver), but the construction at our NEW suite was delayed and delayed! We’d been promised we could move in on March 15th, then April 1st, and then on April 2nd, but when we called them after the Easter break, they said that construction STILL wasn’t done, and well…

The long and the short of it is that we’ve moved out, but haven’t moved in anywhere yet. All our stuff is in storage, and a good friend is putting us up for a few days. But between having my office setup packed, and dealing with trying to get our stuff sorted out (our car is also in the shop right now, which adds a fun layer of complication to things…), I just haven’t had a chance to work on any comic updates.

But good news! We’ve got the keys to our new place now and will be able to FINALLY move in tomorrow! So, while this weekend will be pretty dang busy, I’m hoping that regular updates will begin again around midweek. Thanks for your patience, folks! Moving is always stressful, but this has been Murphy’s Move – Everything that could go wrong, DID. SOOO happy it’s almost over and I’ll have a place to live again!

Happy to hear all your stuff is getting sorted out, and that you had friends to help you through the worst of it.

Even if everything that could’ve gone wrong did, it seems like everything’s working out well in the end. As a long time reader, I couldn’t be happier to hear you’re doing well~

Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night, and want to sleep the following day, when people keep talking to me, calling me, etc. I can feel like a week before I can get back to sleep.

So the delay in the comic could be considered artistic :p

I’m sorry that you are having problems with the move, but glad that the reason for lack of updates is not any of the things my paranoid brain was fearing.

I can empathize, I’m being demovicted myself here in Vancouver. Between the 1% vacancy rate, and the trend of short term rentals trying to find a place to call a home is difficult.

Talk to the management people about adjusting your lease date so you don’t need to pay for days you couldn’t live there.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of that. But I’m glad it’s not something serious (like illness, death in the family, etc). Good luck with the moving and the car issues.
