Stop: Potter Time!
March 28, 2007
Today they released the covers for the final Harry Potter book – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I didn’t realize it, but what we get here in Canada is very different than the covers they release in the US. Apparently, Scholastic has some sort of deal wherein they get to use their own artists for the US release of the Bloomsbury book. I feel lucky to get the international release versions of the covers, because I’ve seen the US release covers of the first five books, and was less than impressed. (Cheesy was not the word for it.)
I have now seen all three versions of the cover – the US, international, and the special ‘adult’ cover, which makes it look like some sort of spy-thriller instead of a ‘kids book’.
Thanks to the US version of the cover, I know how the final Harry Potter book ends. Two words:
Dance off.
I wish I was kidding. [link]
