  1. Ryan Walters Says:

Quick note: The “!!!” in the first panel is off center, at least in Chrome. Off to the left about 20 pixels or so.

Thanks for the update as always!

  2. Abbie is worse than a rust monster when it comes to swords.

  3. Martin Bonner Says:

The error is in the JPEG, so it’s hard to see how it could be platform specific.

  4. TheOtherDibbler Says:

I am with Abbie, that doesn’t count as a sword room.

(Also can confirm Ryan’s observation about the misaligned text in panel 1)

  5. Par Says:

‘!!!’ issue confirmed. Also omg. Don’t ever change, Abbie. XD

  6. Necrisha Says:

I think sword locker might be a better description of a closet full of swords 🙂

  7. TCS Says:

@Necrisha I’d go with “sword closet” unless it were literally a locker, or at least a well-secured closet.

I have a sword bucket, myself. It’s also my cane bucket, arrow bucket, and part-time yoga mat bucket.

  8. Peya Luna Says:

i absolutely love how he´s holding abbie by the scruff like some unruly cat…..which is actually an apt description of her character 😉

  9. Yakumo Says:

Both Joel and Abbie are right to be outraged for their respective reasons.

  10. BaufenBeast Says:

Joel’s pretty strong if he can one-hand Abbie like that.

  11. Necrisha Says:

@TCS My mistake, I was assuming that in the future there may be jokes about securing the sword closet, as that is also in Joel’s office. :).

  12. zmortis Says:

I don’t have enough swords for a sword room. So I just have several “sword locations” throughout my house.

  13. Dean Says:

Maybe Dustin could give Joel some sword room advice.

  14. Abbie fan Says:

I find it unbelievable that Abbie didn’t find the sword right above her.

  17. Myth Says:

I wonder if that’s the same squirrel from the nightclub that Marc saw.
If it is, that squirrel must be adopted and be given a name.
I shall dub him or her, Sir/Dame Dis Traction.

Also have to point out that do not see the navigation arrows in the older comics for some reason.

How… strong is Joel? How LIGHT is Abby?

  2. jeffepp Says:

Mine, Yours and Ours. (The swords, that is.)

  3. Mturtle7 Says:

@djaevlenselv I was wondering that myself. The only plausible explanation is that Abbie’s anime fandom has given her magic powers to make herself as light or heavy as need be for specific comedic situations.

Also, don’t give us that face in the 3rd panel, Mark. You knew PEFECTLY WELL what would happen when you were asking that question in front of Abbie! Don’t even TRy to convince us otherwise!

I guess she has never seen the Cautionary Tales of Swords.

Swords are dangerous. They will cut your fucking throat wide open.

  5. Plasma Man Says:

Abbie failed a perception check to see the sword right behind her in the first panel. But then Joel critted his strength check to throw her out his office.

  6. TheDarkTyger Says:

That Abby face in the last panel. I love it!

  7. And, if you are not going to behave, you will continue to be drawn badly.

(Did I miss a trope or meme? Why does Abbie appear to be drawn more crudely in the last panel?)

  8. TCS Says:

@djaevlenselv @Mturtle7 I’ve noticed that even during real life segments, this comic still plays around with showing the characters’ perception/imagination instead of true reality. At least, that’s my interpretation for every time something goofy like this happens.

    @Gene Wirchenko caricature?

  9. Yakumo Says:

Both Joel and Abbie are rightly outraged for their own reasons.

  10. Grondiouse Says:

Is the line “a girl has no name” a Song of Ice and Fire reference? Nicely done!

    Posted July 17th, 2018 at 9:04 am
  11. TheDarkTyger Says:

@Gene Wirchenko: ….she’s just as stylized in the first panel… It’s comedic effect.
