“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens…”

I always felt the Fae in any lore kept this idea best.

That Permission to touch addition is so great. Thanks for reminding people on how important consent is in things like this.

I’d argue that what they’re doing is experimentation as well. Got to come up with new ideas to get you through the rest of the year!

I like that they included the permission to touch part. Big importance these days, but still nice to see some OOC for that.

Oh man, this makes me want to play Changeling sooo badly!

Spring is PSYCH WARFARE; it’s boosting your side’s morale, so it will be better at the hiding, the fighting, and the using-their-own-magic-against-them bits.

It’s R&R, which any competent military planner or commander will tell you, is absolutely essential if you want to get the absolute best out of your available forces.

That Permission to touch is perfect. I’ve been to so many conventions where people just assume it’s ok to touch, hug or glomp people without asking for consent first.

It sent my spouse into a panic attack once.

  8. Robin Bobcat Says:

The main argument I heard was that the Fae are looking for scared, sad, and angry people who escaped them. It doesn’t occur to them that those who fled the thorns might be *happy*.
There is also an element of accepting what someone has become. That this is their life now so get used to it.

In the Second Edition of Lost, Spring gets expanded a bit actually. Not only are they about reminding changelings why they escaped and how to live, they have several healing Contracts. In addition, they are responsible for keeping people’s Clarity straight and have a few Mantle benefits and merits to this end. They are healers, both physical and mental. Spring is a time of recuperation and morale boosting, which is critical in any military operation and society.

I mean its a LARP and they have rules about touching either its allowed or not and just deal with it.
I just assumed such a little thing wouldn’t need to be noted or anything

This comic has for the past few years I’ve been reading it, an amazing testament to show the diversity in gaming.
I know it seems not like a big deal, but by having the simple, “Permission to touch”, has validated gamers like me in a big way.
Thank you for writing stories the way you do. <3

What I find the most interesting is how the OOC stuff is folding into this in-game session. (Not to mention the comments section about the mandatory fun vs. the Mark Mope, a few strips back.) I’m pretty sure we’re seeing the entire point and arguments over the Spring Court play out, in a meta sense.

…Why can’t I remember who the guy is and whose character he is?

@MasqueradingDragon, I had the same thought and had to go look at earlier Changeling games. It’s Joel, which I kind of suspected from the anti-fun stance in character.
